KIDNEY AWARENESS

Overview:

The Kidney Awareness Day event held on 26th March 2024 at Tsakane Stadium aimed to raise awareness about kidney health and provide essential health screenings and education to the community. Organized by eAfrica, in in partnership with Ekurhuleni Department of health and collaboration with various stakeholders, the event served as a platform to promote preventive healthcare and empower individuals to take charge of their well-being.

KeyOutcomes:

- Screenings: A total of 103 individuals underwent health screenings, with notable findings including 48 cases of hyperglycemia, 52 cases of elevated blood pressure, and 36 individuals referred for further evaluation of eye health.

- Health Education: Over 200 attendees received health education on various topics, including kidney health, diabetes prevention,and reproductive health.

- Distribution: IEC materials, male condoms, and lubricants were distributed to attendees to promote health awareness and safe practices
